Percentology is a dental-only bookkeeping firm, started in 2013 by Sona Wegner. You work with one dedicated bookkeeper, backed by a US team. Sona onboards every practice and cleans up the books before the monthly work starts.
Sona Wegner, MBA
Owner & Dental Bookkeeper
Sona Wegner is the owner of Percentology. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA. She started at a dental CPA firm in 2007 while still in college, preparing tax returns and working directly with dental practices. She has stayed with dental practices ever since. In 2013, she started Percentology so practices could get bookkeeping done the same way every month, with Profit & Loss set up for overhead comparison. She still onboards every practice and cleans up the books before the monthly close begins. The overhead averages on this site come from the practices her team does bookkeeping for monthly. Outside of work, Sona is the mother of two beautiful boys who both plan to be dentists, and she is married to a handsome man who cooks for her. Swoon. 🥰
Jenna Monaco, MBA
Dental Bookkeeper
Born and raised in central Pennsylvania, Jenna now lives in Colorado with her husband, son, and two dogs in the Fort Collins area. Jenna graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's in Accounting and Business Administration from King’s College. She later earned a Master of Business Administration with a Finance Certificate from Colorado State University. Jenna’s career has allowed her to serve several industries as an accountant, mostly specializing in tax. With her love of research and helping clients grow, she later discovered her true passion: bookkeeping. She can focus on the day-to-day details that keep her clients’ practices running while helping them grow. Outside of work, Jenna loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking, running, and camping in the Rocky Mountains with her husband, son, and two pups! 🌄
Stephanie VanSwearingen, MBA
Dental Bookkeeper
Born and raised in bustling Tampa, Florida, Stephanie now resides in Plant City, where she enjoys a more small-town lifestyle with her family and growing flock of animals. Stephanie graduated from the University of South Florida in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree. She later earned her Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting at Louisiana State University. Stephanie has held several roles in public accounting, most recently handling client onboarding and overseeing a team of accountants and bookkeepers. Because she loves working closely with clients and brings strong attention to detail to deliver high-quality results, she finds her current role as a dedicated accountant highly rewarding. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys being a travel baseball mom, fishing trips with family, and raising her chickens!
Caitlin Moy
Dental Bookkeeper
Caitlin Moy lives in a small town just outside Houston, Texas, with her family/children, including her fur babies (cat Biscuit, dog Zeus). She graduated from Houston Community College with an Associate's Degree in Business Management and began her accounting journey. Caitlin joined Percentology with 4+ years of experience doing bookkeeping for dental practices in a well-known dental CPA Firm. She enjoys being a bookkeeper because bringing order to financial chaos is super satisfying, like cleaning out a junk drawer. With everything neat and organized, businesses can understand their numbers and use them consistently to grow. A couple of fun facts about her: She has an oddly good photographic memory and feels most at home on the beach, toes in the sand!

Why dentists hire us
A general bookkeeper can categorize bank transactions. Dental books need more than that. Associate pay, owner pay, and staff pay have to stay in separate categories and tie to the payroll reports, or the overhead percentage is wrong. CareCredit fees come out of the deposit, and those have to be recorded, or income is short. Owner family wages have to be kept out of staff costs, or the comparison is not with other practices.
Most bookkeepers have not worked in a CPA firm, so tax items are not organized for the return. Our bookkeepers have. For example, dental equipment over the IRS threshold of $2,500 belongs in a fixed-asset account, not in dental supplies.
We build the monthly close so you can compare overhead with other practices, and so your CPA gets financial reports that don't have to be rebuilt at tax time. We do not prepare the return. We keep the books current so your CPA can.
What the bookkeepers bring
Accounting degree
Our bookkeepers have an accounting degree or the equivalent. Sona has an accounting degree and an MBA. The books are kept by people trained in accounting, not only in data entry.
Five years in a CPA firm
Each bookkeeper has at least five years of experience in a CPA firm. Sona spent five years at dental CPA firms before starting Percentology in 2013. That is where the tax-item habits come from. We still do not prepare the return.
Trained by the owner
Every bookkeeper is trained by Sona, not by a manual. She reviews how they code dental accounts before they take a practice on their own.
Reviewed after they do
Sona, the owner, reviews the work, and the categories stay consistent month to month. That is what makes your overhead comparable with the other practices we keep books for.
